HistoryMasterclock’s® predecessor was founded by William (Bill) Clark in 1986 to build automation systems for the Radio & TV industries . Masterclock® itself was incorporated as an entity in 1994. Starting with a two person operation in the proverbial home garage it has grown into a successful enterprise doing multi-million dollars in business throughout the world. The company's first product was the TCR100 time code reader card developed in 1986 to synchronize IBM personal computers in Radio/TV broadcast networks automation systems. Over the years Masterclock® has introduced an array of products to meet the demand of customers engaged in many different types of activities where correct and accurate time is critical; they are among the world’s most demanding and time sensitive users. These products now include digital and analog clocks, time and frequency standards, devices to synchronize computers, networks and many other systems where accurate time is required. Open StandardsWe adhere to open worldwide standards such as Network Time Protocol (NTP) and IRIG / SMPTE / EBU time codes for the distribution of time and date information. Many other companies use closed distribution standards thus locking the end user into proprietary hardware and systems.
